Week 1 (MTC)
Hey everyone!
This has been such a stressful week but it's all worth it. In the 7 days that I've been here I've learned more about the Gospel than anywhere else before. I still have a lot to learn but I know that through the spirit I can accomplish anything. We have two "real" investigators, their names are Cate (catey) and Lance. Things are going really well with Cate, she really believes and is interested in what we are teaching her. We have already asked her to be baptized but she wants to think about it, she's going to say yes though. Lance on the other hand has a negative relationship with God so a lot of what we're teaching him is causing confusion for him; we think he's getting it though. We also met an investigator around the MTC and set up a meeting with him, we taught him about the plan of salvation and he brought a time when his son had cancer and how he somehow knew that someone knew how he felt, we explained that Jesus was that person. I shared about mom and my companion shared about his, and the spirit was testifying so strongly that we all started crying and we all stood up and hugged each other. It was probably the coolest thing I've ever experienced. My companion is Elder Culotta, he is from Modesto California, and is also going to the Chicago Illinois West Mission. We are getting along super well, in fact our whole district is getting along better than any other district. I'm senior companion and my comp is district leader, we have to keep everyone in check, and surprisingly, it's pretty easy. That's pretty much all I have to say, it's been a short week but there is much work to be done. Love you all!
p.s. don't drink the orange juice...
The church is true, the book is blue, and I'm serving for two.
Love,
Elder Eddenfield
