Miracles!

Hello dearest friends and family!

This week was filled with miracles! Some of the things that happened this week may not be seen as miracles to some but they truly are.
We had a dinner with a family and the Spanish Elders were there as well. We decided to throw the lesson at them since we always do it, horrible reason I know. They took a little while to get into it and we had another appointment so we left before  they started. As we were leaving the families non-member friend showed up to pick up her daughter. The Spanish Elders invited her to listen to the message and she loved what they read out of the Book of Mormon. We now have an appointment with her tomorrow in the members home. I think this might be the first lesson I've taught in a members home with someone that was found from the members. I'm pretty excited!
We also dropped the Theobald's this week. They weren't willing to come to church and as much as we enjoyed helping them with service our purpose is not to do service for people, it's to help them come closer to Christ, and if they aren't willing to make the changes to get there then we have no purpose in being there. They have our number and can call us if hey ever change their minds.
That's pretty much all that happened that's worth mentioning. Oh! We went to the Elders Quorum presidency meeting and there were tons of assignments made and awesomely they gave themselves the assignments to do stuff. So that was pretty cool.
I think that's all now. Just one last little rant thingy.
I feel the need to say something due to things that have been said in the past by me and others that have been bothering me. The Bible is the word of God, it contains much of His teaching and has been given to us to learn more about the life of our Savior Jesus Christ and of how we can become more like him. It is a holy book which can give us direction and comfort. The Book of Mormon is also Gods word, given to us to bring even more truth and light into our lives. As we we use BOTH together we can truly come to understand more of our Father in Heaven and of what we need to do to return to live with Him. I have a strong testimony of the importance of using both books of scripture in teaching for if I had not studied the Bible I would not be able to show others how the two can truly become one in our hands. It is my invitation to each and every one of you to read both the Bible and the Book of Mormon this week. Find ways that they connect and learn all that you can from them both. If you have trouble finding connections let me know and I can help you out. Please heed my invitation as I know that as you do this God will give you answers to questions you may have through both the words you read and through His Holy Spirit.

I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Fired Up For Missionary Work

Hey everyone!

This week was great! The members are super fired up for missionary work all of the sudden. We had a ward Council on Sunday and Bishop pretty much dedicated the entire meeting to missionary work and how to get the Ward pumped. They decided that they wanted to do a Ward fast for missionary work, which is a fantastic idea. They announced it in each individual classes and people seemed pretty excited for it. Also, lots of people at church were telling us about cool experiences that they have had in regards to Missionary work. And many came up to us and told us that they were going to start doing better. It's been crazy. The work of salvation is definitely going to start hastening pretty soon here. Our week was a normal week for the most part. We had a lot of (?) with members so that was super good. We had a couple lessons with the Fikes as well. We invited them to be baptized and they said they would if they came to know it was true but would not commit to a date, at least even saying they would be baptized is a big step. We also had zone training which was really good. We learned a lot about the importance of planning in regards to all other aspects of missionary work. We also learned about the importance of having a good attitude with everything so that's something that I want to work on. During service some big glass pane fell in the road so we had to go run and clean it up. I directed traffic around it all and the very last person to drive by was honking like crazy and flipped us off. So that was fun. That's pretty much all of the excitement for this week.
Make this week great!

Love you all!

The Fun Keeps Going On and So Does the Work!

Hey Everyone!

This week was pretty good! Elder Jepsen got here all safe and sound and man is he awesome. When we got all of our stuff together after he got here we went out to do some street contacting and this Elder talks to literally everyone! He was the crossing the street, speed walking, and making loops. Just so we could talk to everyone. It was awesome.
We taught the Theobald's a couple times this week and things aren't going anywhere with them. They just can't accept that there is one true church and nothing we say or testify to them does anything. We're most likely going to be dropping them pretty soon here. It really is too bad because they are a really nice couple. We also found some cool potentials. We stopped by Wesley Crump, I talked about him about a month ago, and a bunch of his other roommates were there. Wesley wasn't there but we were excepting that since he just got married. All of the other guys were very Bible savvy and had a lot of different questions, the lesson got a little Bible bashy which is one of my problems. I know the Bible well enough that I can use scriptures from just the Bible to teach, but it makes me prone to being more bashy.
There were five in total but only three of them committed to read and pray about the Book of Mormon, and one of those three was very hesitant but still committed to doing so. He really wants evidence, which we could give him some stuff, but won't because it won't do anything. Sunday was fast and testimony meeting and Elder Jepsen and I went up and bore our testimonies and a bunch of other members bore their testimonies on Missionary work and it was pretty great. We also led Singing time this Sunday, will be doing it next Sunday as well and will lead the kids for Father's Day. Pretty exciting! We also met with the Fikes and he had some concerns with baptism. He doesn't think that baptism is necessary to enter into Heaven, he thinks it's just to show Christ that you love him. So that's a concern we will have to address.
That's all of the excitement for this week. The fun keeps going on and so does the work!

Love you all!
